Report: Rams Not Interested In Trading OT Rodger Saffold

Dan Pompei of the National Football Post reports that the St. Louis Rams do not have interest in trading OT Rodger Saffold.

Pompei adds that things have apparently calmed down regarding a move from left to right tackle now that they’ve signed Jake Long to a long-term deal.

Previous reports mentioned that Saffold could request a trade out of St Louis following the addition of Long, which makes sense when you consider how poorly right tackles have fared on the open market.

Interestingly enough, Pompei also mentions that the Rams are open to either trading up or down in the upcoming draft. They have plenty of draft picks to make a move up and secure one of their top targets, but there’s at least some question as to whether or not there’s really anyone worth moving up for in this year’s draft class.

Rather than holdout or skip the team’s off season programs, Saffold decided to show up to voluntary workouts, a move that could indicate his acceptance of the his new position.
