Report: Rams Unlikely To Target A QB In The Draft

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that although the St. Louis Rams could have multiple selections in the first-round of the upcoming draft and with QB Sam Bradford coming off of another serious knee injury, there are still unlikely to take a quarterback in round one.

According to team sources that spoke with La Canfora, the organization is “very comfortable” with Bradford as their quarterback moving forward.

Bradford’s contract no longer includes any guaranteed money in the coming years, but he has base salaries of $14 million in 2014 and another $13 million in 2015. He’ll also count $17.6 million against the team’s 2014 salary cap.

While multiple executives believe “all options would be on the table” for the Rams in next year’s draft, it appears as though the Rams could try to trade the Redskins’ first-round pick, which would currently be the No. 2 overall selection. This could allow them to get some additional draft picks for next year while moving back a few spots.
