Rams WR Stedman Bailey Suspended 4 Games

Ian Rapoport reports that the NFL has suspended WR Stedman Bailey for four games after he violated the league’s  performing enhancing substance policy.

  • Rapoport adds that a source close to the Rams has informed him that Bailey did not not take any performance enhancing substances.
  • According to Rapoport, there still no word regarding what exactly he took.
  • The Rams have reportedly known of Bailey’s impending suspension, but didn’t address the position during the draft.

Bailey, 23, is entering the second year of his four-year contract worth $2.736 million. Last year, he appeared in all 16 games for St. Louis and totaled 17 reception for 226 yards receiving and also contributed a rushing touchdown.

The Rams have a number of options at receiver, but there is some question marks regarding them seeing as Brian Quick has yet to live up to expectations and Tavon Austin is coming off of a disappointing rookie season.

We’ll have to see what comes of this for Bailey.
