Ravens Open To Trading Second-Year LB Arthur Brown

ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that the Ravens ILB Arthur Brown has been the subject of trade talks with other teams around the league.

  • Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network has confirmed the report that Baltimore is open to trading Brown.
  • Aaron Wilson reports that the Ravens are “extremely unlikely” to trade Brown, despite the fact that he is reportedly a popular trade target.

Brown was inactive for the team’s first game of the season and there were reports from training camp that he had fallen behind a number of players on the Ravens’ depth chart.

Even so, this is still interesting news give that there was a lot of hype regarding Brown leading up to the 2013 NFL Draft. On top of that, the Ravens used a second-round pick on him and he’s just entering his second season with the team.

Brown, 24, still has three years remaining on his four-year, $3.554 million contract and will make a base salary of $566,556 for the 2014 season. Last year, Brown recorded 15 tackles, a half sack, and a forced fumble over the course of 14 games.

We’ll have more regarding which teams could be interested in Brown as the news is available.
