Report: Ravens Still Have Interest In CB Champ Bailey

Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun, citing a league source, reports that the Ravens still have interest in the veteran CB Champ Bailey and have maintained contact with him since he worked out for the team last week.

  • Preston adds that the Ravens continue to monitor the list of available free agents, but Bailey is reportedly high on their list.

The Lions also brought Bailey in for a workout in recent months, but there hasn’t been any indication that they are considering signing him to a contract since the meeting took place.

Back in April, the Saints signed Bailey to a two-year contract worth a max value of $7 million. However, he released as the Saints trimmed their roster down to 53 players at the end of August.

Bailey is 36, appeared in just five games last year due to a foot injury and recorded 14 tackles to go along with three passes defensed. His agent has said that he intends to continue his NFL career if n opportunity presented itself.

There are obvious questions about his ability moving forward, so we’ll have to see Baltimore is willing to give him a shot at some point in the future.
