Report: Ray Rice Could Be Reinstated Within The Next Month

Jason La Canfora reports that suspended RB Ray Rice could be reinstated within the next four weeks.

Rice’s appeal hearing date has already been set and La Canfora mentions that a final decision expected to come soon after. This means that the situation could be resolved by mid-November and, according to La Canfora, it’s conceivable that Rice could sign with another team this season.

La Canfora reports that FBI chief Robert Mueller’s investigation into the league’s handling of the matter could still take “several months” to be completed.

However, Rice’s legal team has made it clear that they have no desire to wait until the NFL and the NFLPA’s investigations are completed to resolve his suspension appeal.

A first-time offender would receive a six games suspension, which means Rice would have served his suspension under the current criteria in the NFL’s new domestic violence policy.

La Canfora has spoken to numerous legal experts regarding Rice’s situation and they have told him that Rice has an “exceedingly strong case” and they believe Rice could be reinstated.

For what it’s worth, La Canfora wonders if a team like the Colts or Patriots would have interest in Rice if he were to be available.

We’ll have more updates regarding Rice possibly being reinstated as the news is available.
