Redskins Officially Sign WR DeSean Jackson

Update:

——–

Dianna Marie Russini first reported that the Washington Redskins and WR DeSean Jackson have reached an agreement on a contract.

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Jackson is expected to sign a three-year contract worth $24 million which includes $16 million fully guaranteed.
    • Schefter adds that Jackson will make $8 million for the 2014 season.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that the 49ers made a “late push” for Jackson, but the Redskins were able to close out the deal.
  • Albert Breer reports that other suitors were “guarded” and “reluctant to spend,” which left Jackson with little leverage.

Multiple sources have confirmed the report and added that the two sides are finalizing the details of the agreement.

Jackson, 27, totaled 82 receptions for 1,332 yards receiving and nine touchdowns for the Eagles last season. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 7 receiver in the league last year.

We had him listed as the No. 1 player in our Best Available Free Agents list.
