Report: Redskins Re-Sign S Tanard Jackson

Dianna Marie Russini reports that the Redskins are re-signing S Tanard Jackson one day after they released him.

  • According to Russini, the reason Washington released Jackson was due to his previous contract.
  • The Redskins will now have him back at a more reasonable cost.

Jackson, 28, was suspended for repeated violations of the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Before his suspension, Jackson spent five years with the Buccaneers primarily as their starting free safety.

It seems almost certain that Jackson will need to compete for a roster spot during training camp, especially with the number of players they currently have on their roster at the safety position.

Jackson joins a group of safeties that includes: Ryan ClarkBrandon Meriweather, Phillip Thomas and Bacarri Rambo.
