Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Saints and OLB Junior Galette have reached an agreement in principle on a contract extension.

Galette, 26, was entering the second year of his three-year, $6.3 million contract that included $3.5 million guaranteed. He has a base salary of $1.4 million coming his way over the next two years.

Last season, Galette appeared in all 16 games and recorded 40 tackles, 12 sacks, a forced fumble and two recoveries.

Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 12 outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense last year.
