Report: Saints Players, Sean Peyton, Micky Loomis & Gregg Williams Facing Long Suspensions?

Mark Maske of the Washington Post reports the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell are considering long suspension for Saints head coach Sean Payton, General Manager Mickey Loomis, former DC Gregg Williams as well as the players that were involved in the team’s bounty program.

Maske specifically mentions that those involved could be facing suspensions as long as eight games for their roles and Williams could get an even worse punishment. Maske’s source mentioned that the league could use the year long suspension that was given to Green Bay Packers RB Paul Hornung and Detroit Lions DT Alex Karras for gambling back in the 60’s.

If this ends up being the case, the Saints could be in for a forgettable season.
