Report: Saints Will Not Tender Restricted Free Agent DT Tom Johnson

Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports that the New Orleans Saints have elected to pass on offering restricted free agent DT Tom Johnson a tender and will now become an unrestricted free agent.

Johnson, 29, signed with the Colts out of college as an undrafted free agent back in 2006. He later signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL before joining the Saints in 2011.

In three season with the Saints, Johnson appeared in 40 games totaling 35 tackles, 5 sacks and a forced fumble.

According to Pro Football Focus, he played 229 snaps last season and graded out as below average interior lineman.
