Albert Breer reports that the Seahawks have agreed to terms with DE Cliff Avril.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Avril will receive a two-year deal worth $15 million. Avril will still have to pass a physical before the deal is finalized.
Detroit reportedly offered him a three-year deal worth $30 million last season, but he elected to play under the franchise tag with the hope of cashing this offseason. Clearly, things didn’t workout according to plan for Avril.
Avril, 26, has tallied 29 sacks and nine forced fumbles over the last three seasons. He offers position versatility, but he’ll clearly be playing defensive end for the Seahawks.
