Report: Seahawks Asked Broncos About Trading Julius Thomas For Percy Harvin

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday NFL Countdown that the Seahawks also reached out to the Denver Broncos about the idea of trading WR Percy Harvin for TE Julius Thomas.

However, Schefter adds that the Broncos never considered the idea and ultimately said no to the Seahawks.

Interestingly enough, Ian Rapoport reported that the Browns and Seahawks actually discussed trading Harvin for TE Jordan Cameron, but a deal obviously never materialized.

The fact that the Seahawks ultimately settled for a conditional sixth-round pick from the Jets in return for Harvin is a clear indication no one was willing to offer much in term for Harvin, let alone a solid starting tight end.

Thomas, 25, is in the final year of his contract and would clearly be a very coveted player on the open market next year. The Broncos and Thomas’ agent have discussed a potential extension in recent months, but there hasn’t been any reported progress towards an agreement.

Thomas has continued his high level of play this year as he’s caught 24 passes for 277 yards receiving and nine touchdowns.
