Report: Seahawks & Browns Discussed Trading Percy Harvin For Jordan Cameron

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that the Seahawks reached out to a number of NFL teams regarding WR Percy Harvin before sending him to the Jets.

According to Rapoport, Seattle spoke to the BrownsBuccaneers, Broncos, Bengals and Colts about potential trades, but the Jets obviously made them the best offer.

Interestingly enough, Rapoport mentions that the Browns and Seahawks actually discussed trading Harvin for TE Jordan Cameron, but a deal obviously never materialized.

While I’m sure Cameron was brought up during trade talks between the two teams, they probably weren’t anywhere close to reaching a deal given that the Jets made them best offer by trading just a conditional sixth-round pick for Harvin.

The Browns and Cameron have discussed a contract extension, but there hasn’t been any reported progress in recent weeks and it appears likely that talks will spill over into the offseason.

Cameron, 25, is entering the final year of his rookie contract and is scheduled to make just $645,000 for the 2014 season. He’s coming off of a break season in which he caught 80 passes for 917 yards receiving and seven touchdowns over the course of 15 games.
