Report: Jets, Saints & Seahawks Have Interest In WR Sidney Rice

Update:

Ian Rapoport reports that the Jets are reportedly looking to add another receiver and have interest in free agent WR Sidney Rice.

  • Rapoport adds that the Saints and Seahawks are also among the teams with interest in Rice.

Rice, 27, hasn’t found much interest since free agency got underway on Tuesday, so this could be something to watch in the coming days. He’s obviously familiar with their offense and offers plenty of size at receiver.

However, he’s missed a total of 25 games over the last four years. In 2013, he was limited to appearing in just eight games and caught 15 receptions for 231 yards receiving and three touchdowns.

He signed a five-year contract worth $41 million that included $18.5 million guaranteed with the Seahawks back in 2011, but they elected to take $7.3 million in cap space in cap saving by cutting him loose a few weeks ago.

We have him listed as the No. 17 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Ian Rapoport reports that the Seahawks are now interested in re-signing veteran WR Sidney Rice.

This comes a day after Golden Tate signed a long-term contract with the Detroit Lions, so it appears as though they are concerned about their receiver depth moving forward.
