Report: Seahawks Re-Sign DT Tony McDaniel

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Seahawks have reached an agreement with DT Tony McDaniel.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that McDaniel’s two-year deal is worth a max value of $6.3 million.

McDaniel, 29, appeared in all 16 games last season and totaled 52 tackles, two sacks, and a fumble recovery.

Pro Football Focus rated McDaniel as the No. 15 defensive tackle in the league last season. We have him listed as the No. 49 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that negotiations between Seahawks and free agent DT Tony McDaniel are “heating up.”

  • Rapoport adds that two other teams are also involved and a decision could come today.
  • Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com reports that the Cowboys are one of the teams with interest in McDaniel.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Seahawks are currently in negotiations with free agent DT Tony McDaniel regarding a return to Seattle.

The Seahawks have already parted ways with a stout run-stopper in Red Bryant, so it would make sense to see them try to retain McDaniel at a reasonable cost.
