Seahawks To Sign WR Kevin Smith

Adam Jude of the Seattle Times reports that the Seahawks are signing WR Kevin Smith to a contract.

Smith signed with the Cardinals an undrafted free agent out of Washington following this year’s NFL Draft. However, he lasted just a matter of weeks before the team placed him on waivers.

The Jaguars claimed him, but they too waived him after just a few weeks.

Back in 2011, Smith suffered a torn ACL that impacted his play upon returning, but he would later get back to being consistent player for the Huskies.

Last year, he totaled 785 yards receiving and averaged a team-high 15.3 yards per reception.

The odds are against him securing a roster spot with the Seahawks given that they have one of the league’s deepest rosters, but there is always a chance he could impress the coaching staff.
