Bills Complete Trade For QB Tarvaris Jackson, Release Vince Young

Albert Breer of the NFL Network reports that Tarvaris Jackson has agreed to restructure his contract to facilitate a trade to the Bills.

Jackson will reportedly have an opportunity to make $3 million this season.

Consequently, the Bills have released backup QB Vince Young after he wasn’t able to show enough improvement over the course of training camp. It’s hard to imagine that he’ll have many more opportunities in the NFL.

Ian Rapport of NFL.com reports that sources have informed him that the Seattle Seahawks will trade backup QB Tarvaris Jackson to the Buffalo Bills. The deal has yet to be finalized, by is expected to be completed in the near future.

This is certainly a surprising move as the Bills haven’t been mentioned as one of the team’s in the trade market for a backup quarterback, but there have been several reports that Vince Young and Tyler Thigpen have both been very underwhelming throughout training camp. Many believed that the Packers or Cardinals were the most likely destinations for Jackson after Russell Wilson and Matt Flynn solidified the top-two roster spots.

Jackson will likely be asked to restructure his current contract that will pay him $4 million for the upcoming season.
