Report: “Several” Teams Have Reached Out To RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that “several” NFL teams have reached out to free agent RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis in recent weeks.

According to La Canfora, the interest in Green-Ellis stems from players being disciplined and sustaining injuries in the first two weeks of the season.

La Canfora mentions that Green-Ellis is still rehabbing an injury, but he’s expected to draw interest down the road.

The fact that La Canfora specifically mentions disciplined players would suggesting that the Vikings or Ravens could have interest in signing him once healthy, but that’s purely speculation on my part.

Green-Ellis, 28, was one of the more notable players released during final roster cuts as the Bengals elected to go with their young running backs over the veteran.

Last year, Green-Ellis averaged just 3.4 yards-per-carry on 220 attempts and ran for 756 yards and seven touchdowns.
