Brad Biggs reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers are signing former Panthers S Mike Mitchell.
The Eagles, Redskins, 49ers, Bears, Broncos and Falcons have all been mentioned as potential options for Mitchell, but the Steelers came out of left field and got him under contract.
Mitchell, 26, totaled 67 tackles, four sacks, four interceptions and two forced fumbles during his first year in Carolina.
