Seahawks Sign QB Tarvaris Jackson

Update:

ESPN’s John Clayton reports that QB Tarvaris Jackson has passed his physical and signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle traded Jackson to the Bills last year after it became clear that Russell Wilson was going to be their starting quarterback. The Seahawks added Brady Quinn during the offseason, but Jackson has a closer skill set to that of Wilson, so there’s a chance he could compete for the backup quarterback job.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Seattle Seahawks are expected to sign free agent QB Tarvaris Jackson to a one-year contract.

Jackson would return to the team that traded him away a few years ago. Given that he already knows Darrell Bevell’s offensive system and the fact they could use another quarterback makes this seem like a pretty obvious.

ESPN’s John Clayton reports free agent QB Tarvaris Jackson will visit with the Seattle Seahawks “in the next day or two.”

Clayton adds that multiple sources have informed him that signing Jackson remains a possibility.
