Report: Texans Listening To Offers For The No. 33 Overall Pick

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Houston Texans are already listening to offers for the No. 33 overall pick.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that the Texans’ expectation at this point is that some team will be willing to trade up to No. 33 overall for a defensive lineman, and not a quarterback.
  • Rapoport adds that the Texans may prefer to keep the pick and select Notre Dame’s Louis Nix.

The Texans are sitting there with an obvious need at quarterback and guys like Fresno State’s Derek Carr and Eastern Illinois’ Jimmy Garoppolo still on the board.

However, there is an expectation that defensive lineman like Notre Dame’s Louis Nix and Stephen Tuitt represent the best value at this point in draft, so they could be in a position to trade back a few spots and still come away with a quarterback.

After all, three teams with quarterback needs addressed the position in round one.

We have the Texans taking QB Derek Carr in our recently posted second-round Mock Draft.
