Texans Sign WR Nate Washington To A One-Year, $1M Deal

Albert Breer of NFL Media is reporting that the Texans are signing veteran WR Nate Washington to a contract.

  • John McClain reports that Washington receives a one-year deal worth $1 million that includes $30,000 guaranteed.

Houston parted ways with long-time WR Andre Johnson a few weeks ago and have since added Cecil Shorts in free agency, but they were clearly in need of more help at the receiver position.

Washington, 31, originally signed on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2005. He spent four years in Pittsburgh before later joining the Titans as an unrestricted free agent in 2009.

In 2014, Washington appeared in all 16 games for the Titans last year and caught 40 passes for 647 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 80 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.
