Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans are expected to sign veteran S Danieal Manning

  • Smith adds that Manning still needs to pass a physical for the move to be official.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reported not too long ago that the Texans released S Chris Clemons, so they obviously have room for a safety.

Manning, 32, signed on with the Bengals back in April after spending the past three year with Houston, but he was among Cincinnati’s final roster cut this weekend.

Last year, he suffered a hairline fracture of his right fibula and was limited to appearing in just six games last season. Manning appeared in all 16 games for the Texans and totaled 77 tackles, a sack, two interceptions three forced fumbles and a recovery.
