Report: Texans Work Out Veteran DT Fred Evans

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reports that veteran DT Fred Evans worked out for the Houston Texans on Tuesday.

This comes just a few days after reports mentioned that Evans tried out for the Patriots.

The Vikings re-signed Evans to a one-year conract worth $1 million back in March, but he was one of the more notable roster cuts made a few week ago as NFL teams worked to get their roster’s down to 53 players.

Evans, 30, appeared in 14 games and totaled 20 tackles and a forced fumble for the Vikings in 2013. According to Pro Football Focus, Evans graded out as the No. 46 defensive tackle in the league and was a solid run-defender.
