Report: Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel Visiting With Buccaneers Thursday

Update:

Albert Breer of the NFL Network reports that Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel has wrapped up his workout for the Jaguars and will travel to Tampa Bay on Thursday to meet with the Buccaneers.

Manziel’s draft stock appears to be improving since a solid showing at his Pro Day. There are several teams in the top-ten who could all use a quarterback including the VikingsBrownsTexans, and Raiders.

The Buccaneers have shown plenty of interest in quarterback prospects, so it seems very likely that they could come away with a quarterback for the second time in as many drafts.

We have the Buccaneers selecting WR Mike Evans at No. 7 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.

Albert Breer reports that Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel is on his way to meet with the Jaguars on Tuesday.

  • Manziel has spent the past two days with the Oakland Raiders.
  • John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reported earlier in the day that Manziel has a visit scheduled with the Texans on April 21 and 22.

Manziel has already met with the PatriotsVikings and Raiders, and is expected to visit with the Browns in the coming weeks. The Buccaneers have also shown some interest in quarterback prospects as well, so they can’t be ruled out.

It’s hard to say for certain who is the top quarterback prospect in this year’s draft class as some still support Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater while others believe UCF QB Blake Bortles could end up having the best pro career.
