Report: Titans Meeting With DT Pat Sims & QB Charlie Whitehurst

Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean reports that the Titans have visits scheduled with Raiders DT Pat Sims and Chargers QB Charlie Whitehurst on Thursday.

This is the first reported interest in Sims, who is coming off of a pretty decent year for the Raiders.

Sims, 28, appeared in all 16 games and totaled 53 tackles and two sacks for the Raiders. He was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 17 defensive tackle in the league last year and showed promise as both a run-stopper and as an interior pass-rusher.

He could be a good value signing for the Titans. We have him listed as the No. 48 player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.

Whitehurst, 31, would make sense as a backup option for Tennessee given that he worked with new HC Ken Whisenhunt last year while in San Diego.

Whitehurst hasn’t seen any action since he was Seattle a few years ago.
