Report: Tony Gonzalez Not Interested In Being Traded

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports that Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez “absolutely does not” want to be traded, and prefers to finish his career out in Atlanta.

Earlier in the day, news broke that WR Julio Jones is likely done for the season. This comes just hours after the Falcons lost a tough game the Jets.

Speculation began circulating online that the Falcons could consider trading Gonzalez given that they’re already 1-4, despite Gonzalez is playing at a very high level. Atlanta could almost certainly find an interested party on the trade market, as a number of teams could really use help at tight end including his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Either way, Gonzalez will almost certainly finish the season on the Falcons roster. He has said numerous times that he intends to call it a career after the season, but we’ve also heard this before. I’m sure there will be more questions about him possibly coming back for another season come January.
