Report: UCF QB Blake Bortles Entering The NFL Draft

Paul Tenorio of the Orlando Sentinel is reporting that UCF QB Blake Bortles will forgo his senior season enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

There was some question as to whether or not Bortles would declare, but recent reports indicated that the NFL advisory board gave him first-round grades. With that in mind, it makes sense that he would look to maximize his position and see if he can convince a team to take a shot on him in the top-10 picks.

Bortles joins Teddy Bridgewater as two of the top quarterback prospects in next year’s draft.

Some have speculate that Bortles could actually be the No. 1 overall pick ahead of Bridgewater and DE Jadeveon Clowney. Texan’s new head coach Bill O’Brien is expected to target a new quarterback to develop, so we’ll have to see if ends up doing enough to justify entering the discussion for the top selection.
