Report: “Very Possible” NFL Suspends Vikings RB Adrian Peterson

Marke Maske of the Washington Post, citing two people with “knowledge of the deliberations,” is reporting that the NFL is close to announcing a decision regarding potential discipline for Vikings RB Adrian Peterson.

According to Maske’s sources, the NFL is reviewing Peterson’s case under the new personal conduct policy and an announcement could come as soon as Monday or Tuesday.

However, a suspension forPeterson is considered “very possible” based on what Maske is hearing from one of his sources.

Albert Breer mentions that first-time offenders under the new policy can expect to receive a six-game suspension. Although, the question for Peterson is whether or not the league will recognize the nine games he’s already missed this season while on the commissioner’s except list.

Numerous sources have said that the key words are “time served.”

Peterson did not attend a hearing with the NFL to answer questions face-to-face regarding his legal case.

NFLPA sources tell Jason La Canfora that the NFL has reneged on its original deal with him as Peterson remains on the exempt list, despite their previous agreement. The Union believes the matter should have already been resolved.

If Peterson wins grievance and receives a suspension from the league, he could file an appeal and potentially be available to play against the Packers in Week 12, according to Breer.
