Report: Vikings Expected To Hire Steelers RBs Coach Kirby Wilson

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson is leaving Pittsburgh and is expected to join Mike Zimmer’s new coaching staff in Minnesota.

The Ravens interviewed Wilson for the offensive coordinator vacancy, but Jason La Canfora recently mentioned that “many people” believe the Ravens were actually looking at Wilson to coach running backs instead of being their new offensive coordinator.

  • La Canfora adds that Wilson “doesn’t have a future with the Steelers with that situation turning sour.

Wilson joined Mike Tomlin’s staff in 2007 when he first took over the Steelers head coach. He’s spent time with the Buccaneers, Patriots, and Redskins’ coaching staffs.

Zimmer is putting together a very respected coaching staff in Minnesota, so they figure to be one of the more interesting teams to watch in 2014.
