Report: Vikings Re-Sign DE Everson Griffen To A Five-Year Deal

 

Ian Rapoport reports that the Vikings are re-signing DE Everson Griffen to on a “huge” five-year contract.

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Griffen receives a five-year contract worth $42.5 million deal that includes $20 mil guaranteed.
  • Rapoport adds that this contract will pay Griffen as an “upper-echelon” pass-rusher for the next three years.
  • Jim Corbett reports that Griffen will make $27 million over the first three years of his new contract.

Griffen, 26, appeared in all 16 games for the Vikings and totaled 26 tackles, 5.5 sacks and a forced fumble, despite playing less snaps than either Jared Allen or Brian Robison.

  1. Outstanding. Just my opinion, but I think that he has tremendous potential. He was very disruptive and had decent stats despite not getting a lot of playing time. I am looking forward to seeing the vikes with him and Robison at end. Now, can they find two dt’s that will cause us to make comparisons to the Williams wall?
