Report: Vikings Re-Signing G Charlie Johnson

Darren Wolfson reports that the Vikings have re-signed G Charlie Johnson to a two-year contract.

  • Wolfson adds that Johnson’s two-year deal is $2.5 million per year.

The Vikings have reportedly been interested in re-signing Johnson for a few days now. A recent reports indicated that they could target Panthers free agent G Travelle Wharton  if they were unable to retain Johnson, but that is obviously not an option any longer.

Johnson, 29, was a former sixth round pick of the Colts out of Oklahoma State back in 2006. He’s spent the past three season with Minnesota.

Pro Football Focus had Johnson rated as the No. 48 guard in the league last season while playing 1,003 snaps for the Vikings.
