Update: Browns Likely To Sign Either Vince Young Or Tyler Thigpen Following Minicamp

Browns HC Mike Pettine mentioned that they will most likely sign either Vince Young or Tyler Thigpen after their three-day minicamp, per Mary Kay Cabot.

  • Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston first reported that the Browns were bringing in Young for a workout on Monday.
  • Browns GM Ray Farmer confirmed that Young is trying out for the team on Monday and added that Thigpen is doing so as well.

Young recently mentioned that he has found “some interest” from NFL teams this offseason.

“I’ve been getting some calls, some interest,” Young said then. “That’s the good part about it. You never know what’s going to happen with that. I have my agent out there working.”

Young, 30, has reportedly been working out in San Diego since January and is ready to go. The Browns have been taking a look at all of their available options in regards to the quarterback position, so it’s not surprising to see them check in with Young and see what has to offer.

Young was with the Packers for part of the preseason, but was cut loose before the start of the regular season and wound up sitting out the entire year.
