Report: Some Within The Raiders Organization Support QB Matt McGloin Over Terrelle Pryor

Michel Silver of NFL.com mentions that there are voices within the Raiders organization who believe undrafted rookie QB Matt McGloin gives them the best chance to win this season.

Silver adds that Terrelle Pryor‘s biggest ally within the team is owner Mark Davis, who’s interested in seeing what Pryor can do with the opportunity.

With that being said, there’s still “a lot of skepticism” about Pryor being their starting quarterback this season.

McGloin was an unheralded rookie out of Penn State, so it’s surprising that he’s even in the discussion in the first place. After all, the Raiders trade two draft picks — one conditional —  to Seahawks in return for Matt Flynn. Oakland then signed him to a two-year deal, which will pay him $6.5 million for the 2012 season and yet he’s incapable of beating out guy like Pryor and possibly even McGloin.

The Raiders are in bad shape as they head into the 2013 season and that could be putting it mildly.
