John Keim of ESPN.com reports that the Redskins have made calls regarding Panthers S Mike Mitchell.
Mike Jones of the Washington Post confirms that Redskins interest in Mitchell and adds that they have also reached out Bengals’ OT Anthony Collins as well.
Collins, 28, put together a solid season when it counted most and is now among the best available options at left tackle in this year’s free agent market.
The Cardinals, Ravens, Dolphins and Falcons could all be teams to watch in regards to Collins. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 24 offensive tackle in the league last season.
As for Mitchell, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reported Saturday that he has already drawn interest from the Bears, Eagles, Broncos and Falcons.
Mitchell, 26, totaled 67 tackles, four sacks, four interceptions and two forced fumbles during his first year in Carolina.
