Retirement An Option For Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch?

Ian Rapoport reports that Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch told two teammates last year that he could walk away from the NFL if they won a Super Bowl.

  • Rapoport’s source mentioned that; “I could see him walking away.”

This comes shortly after Rapoport confirmed that Lynch is in fact looking for a new contract, but has yet to info the team that he’ll hold out of mandatory minicamp, even though this remains a possibility.

There are a lot of mixed signals coming out regarding Lynch, but it’s clear that he is unhappy with current situation.

Lynch, 28, is entering the third year of his four-year, $31 million contract. As things stand right now, he is set to make a base salary of $5 million to go along with $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses.

Seattle is already paying him a competitive salary, so they could hold firm and see how things situation plays out.

Last year, Lynch appeared in all 16 games and ran for 1,257 yards on 301 carries (4.2 YPC) and scored 14 total touchdowns.
