Rex Grossman Could Be A Contingency Option For The Browns If They Can’t Get Matt Schaub

Jason La Canfora has been saying for a few days now that veteran QB Rex Grossman could be an option for the Cleveland Browns, depending on whether or not they are able sign Matt Schaub if he’s released by Houston.

Every indication is that the Browns have Schaub at the top priority, but they could have competition for him from the Raiders who are reportedly very interest in Schaub as well.

There is an imagine floating around the Internet right now that seems to show the Browns free agent board of targets and it just happens to have Grossman’s name on it.

It seems a little strange that the Browns would just have a whiteboard lying around with free agents on it, but it’s also by no means a guarantee that this is a list of targets for them.

Grossman, 33, also has a connection to new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan seeing as he has spent a few years working with him in Washington. However, it’s hard to get excited about the idea of adding a quarterback who hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2011.
