RG3 Declines Colts’ Private Workout Request

Heisman Trophy-winning Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III declined a request from the Indianapolis Colts to conduct a private workout, according to Colts owner Jim Irsay, via his Twitter account.

Irsay said that the team wanted to be “as thorough and disciplined in the process of the #1 pick“, but Griffin’s agent said no to them. Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, near-unanimously projected as the first overall pick in the draft, worked out with the Colts today.

It is set in stone that Indianapolis will bag themselves a fine replacement for Peyton Manning, who was released by the Colts on March 7 before finding a new home with the Denver Broncos. But the organization seems unwilling to confirm that they will select Luck, stressing that they have yet to reach a decision.

This development should verify Luck’s status as the next franchise quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts though, and RG3 for the Washington Redskins who traded up to get the second overall pick, if there was ever any doubt.
