The Minnesota Vikings have announced that they have promoted Rick Spielman, former Vice President of Player Personnel, to the teams General Manager position.
“This establishes the organizational structure that will lead to the long term success of the Vikings,” Vikings Owner Zygi Wilf said in a statement. “Having watched Rick over the years, we have the utmost confidence that he will help us reach our ultimate goal of winning championships.”
Minnesota is in pretty bad shape so Spielman will have his work cut out for him. Obviously, the team will have to address the offensive side of the ball in the draft but they’ll need additional help in the secondary as well. Lots of work to be done.
