Gil Brandt is “hearing” that former-Cowboys DC Rob Ryan and former-Chiefs HC Romeo Crennel are the Saints’ “top choices” for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
Rob Ryan to the Rams seemed all but done before the two sides decided to back out of an agreement. Crennel has been a very success defensive coordinator, so I’m sure he’s a strong a candidate for the job.
New Orleans will implement a new 3-4 defensive scheme in 2013 and both candidates offer plenty of experience with that system. We should know more regarding the situation in the coming days.
