Report: Rod Marinelli Will Be The Cowboys Defensive Line Coach

Todd Archer reports that Rod Marinelli has agreed to become the Dallas Cowboys’ defensive line coach.

Marinelli met with the Cowboys today, but previous reports indicated that he would consider taking the Jaguars defensive coordinator job.

This is a great addition to the Cowboys coaching staff and could really help Monte Kiffin out next year.

Calvin Watkins reports that Rod Marinelli is visiting with the Cowboys today at Valley Ranch.

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that although there have been several rumors circulating that former Bears defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli would likely be joining Monte Kiffin in Dallas, it may not be a slam dunk.

La Canfora mentions that Marinelli has worked with new Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley in the past and is reportedly in consideration for Jacksonville’s defensive coordinator position.

The Cowboys obviously couldn’t offer him Marinelli that job now that they have Kiffin in place, so it makes sense that he would consider all of his available options before signing on to a defensive line coach.
