Safford is entering the final year of his contract this season and appears to be unwilling to move to right tackle, as this could have a negative impact on his market value.
St Louis is reportedly taking things slow in regards to pursuing an agreement with Long. He’s set to take a physical today, which could ultimately determine if he’s even an option for them. Clearly, this is hypothetical situation that involves a number of things coming together, but the Rams do have interest in Long, so this is at least something to consider.
