Romo Breaks Collarbone, Out 8 – 10 Weeks?

The 2010 season started with a lot of promise and hype for the Dallas Cowboys but a slow start has left them in a large hole after the first five games of the season. Dallas wound up losing another home game tonight, this time to their division rival New York Giants, but even worse than a tough defeat was the loss of Tony Romo.

Romo was knocked out of the game midway though the second quarter by Giants LB Michael Boley. The hit left Romo with a fractured left clavicle which could keep him out anywhere from eight to ten weeks depending on the severity of the fracture.

John Kitna was brought to replace Romo but looked out of sink with his receivers. Romo mentioned that he has confidence in Kitna’s ability to lead the team while he is out during his post game interview. It would be hard to imagine that Kitna will be able to lead the Cowboys back into playoff contention but I guess anything is possible.
