Ronde Barber To Retire From The NFL

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports tweets that Buccaneers DB Ronde Barber has informed him that he’s going to retire from the NFL.

“I’ve had a better run than I ever could’ve dreamed of having,” said Barber.

Barber played all 16 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was a three-time All Pro selection. He was also a part of their Super Bowl winning team, so he figures to go down as one of the players in the franchise’s history.

Tampa Bay was keeping a roster spot open for him and even allowed him to take his time with the decision, which isn’t that common in league where veteran players are no longer valued as highly. Barber should at least be in the conversation to make the Hall-of-Fame at some point.
