Ryan Fitzpatrick Replaces Jameis Winston (Shoulder) At QB For Buccaneers

Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston reinjured his shoulder during the first half of Sunday’s game against the Saints and has been replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Tampa Bay announced that Winston is questionable to return to the game.

Winston originally suffered an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder a few weeks ago but he had been feeling better in recent days.

Winston, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $25.35 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Winston has appeared in seven games and rushed for 1,853 yards on 246 carries (61.8 YPC) to go along with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions. He has also rushed for 43 yards. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 13 quarterback out of 34 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Winston’s injury as the news is available.
