Ryan Mallett Disappointing In Preseason

Greg Bedard from the Boston Globe writes that Patriots QB Ryan Mallett continues to disappoint.

Mallett was 16-of-37 for 178 yards, no touchdown and 2 interceptions in Thursday’s game against the Saints. Although we did get to see a few good passes the overall  performance was not good.

“He just didn’t look comfortable and the game is not coming naturally to him,” writes Bedard. “Mallett appears to be thinking way too much. He can’t play like that.”

Mallett is competing with Brian Hoyer for the right to be Tom Brady‘s backup, but after Thursday’s performance, the former third-round pick in the 2011 draft, will have to show some serious signs of improvement before the team considers the idea.
