Mallet has been consistently mentioned as a potential option for the Browns since they hired Michael Lombardi as VP of Player Personnel. Since taking the job, there hasn’t been any real indication that he’s even being considered, so it’s safe to say that this idea is being fueled solely by speculation.
New offensive coordinator Norv Turner has said that he would like to see what Weeden can do, but it would be surprising for the Browns to not bring in another quarterback to compete with him in training camp.
