Kristian Garic reports that the Saints are also trying out veteran WR Robert Meachem this week.
The Saints are trying out a number of players this week including: DE/OLB Matt Shaughnessy, OLB Royce LaFrance, LB Chris Weatherd and DT Lawrence Virgil.
Meachem, 31, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2007. He spent the first four years of his career in New Orleans before departing in 2012 for a big-money contract with the Chargers.
However, Meachem lasted just one season in San Diego before he was released and later re-signed by the Saints in 2013. He would go on to spend the 2013 and 2014 seasons with the Saints, but wound up sitting out all of last year.
In 2014, Meachem appeared in 11 games for the Saints and recorded seven receptions for 114 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
