Saints Approach DE Will Smith About Restructuring His Contract

Yahoo’s Jason Cole reports that the New Orleans Saints plan on restructuring DE Will Smith‘s contract in the coming days.

Smith has a $10.15M cap number for the 2012 season which includes a $1 million roster bonus that will be due on March 27th, per Adam Caplan.

It’s believed that this move could free up as much as $5 – $6 million which would be great for a team like the Saints that happens a number of key free agents to address in the coming weeks.
